Hi There, my name is Alex Stubbs. I’m a freelance Web Designer, Web Developer, Internet Business Strategist and Consultant. I’m a lost programmer who found his way into the design field and hasn’t looked back since. Originally from the west I now live in Atlanta Georgia.
I’ve been developing web pages since my early teens and now have quite a few number of years of experience under my belt! I like to build upon platforms such as Wordpress and other Content Management Systems. I don’t label myself (what does Wordpress Rockstar even mean?) but I like to consider myself a quiet talent instead.
I’m a lifelong student of business and business strategies. I am constantly working on various projects and always searching for new ideas. I do some consulting on the side and am always moving forward!

this scumbag is a known rip off…

Am i a known ripoff? I think maybe you’ve gotten the wrong impression or are mixing me up with someone else. I have had one unhappy ex-client (who got his way, his money, his website… for free) who went on a rampage spreading bad rep around. I’ve had to deal with it ever since. It’s completely false… and a bit annoying!
It can be a bit of a headache to have one misunderstood person ruin a great reputation. I’m more than happy to provide any and all proof to clear the air with anyone who is believing this person. I have been in this business for years and haven’t ripped one single person off in my lifetime.

Mark,
I wish I would have seen your comment before I sent Alex my deposit.
He completely set me up. Provided his phone number to speak to him a few times then changed his number. Never responds to emails.
Do not do business with this guy.

He’s now claiming that Paypal have stolen the money….

Alex
Mark, we both have that email and you and I both know I did not say paypal stole the money. The email said:
————–
The deduction and fees from paypal that took out your deposit from my bank account did however, and that has been and passed. I see no reason to pay you multiple times. I work hard
for a living and already have resolved this issue with paypal and see
no further action.I have had to report your abusive emails to your ISP and have gotten
most of your comments online removed if you have yet to notice. I
don’t feel like wasting anymore time with you. If you really are telling the truth and have not recieved the money
from PayPal then that is PayPals issue and not mine. I’ve already paid
my dues.
—————
If you start to google similar issues with paypal you will see that this happens constantly and the reason for the abundance of anti-paypal sites out there.
If you want to discuss resolving this then respond to my email but please dont word things incorrectly to make it seem like ive said or done something that I have not.

Hello Alex,
Wow, am I glad to see you’re alive!
See, I’m still patiently waiting for you to refund the 220,00 USD you owe me after we two-sidedly cancelled our agreement last year. I have sent you multiple reminders for months, but never gotten any response.
To refresh your mind, here’s what you sent me back in September 2008:
“After all this delay though I would definitely understand if you want to work with a different designer. I can send you the design but I need to know which you would rather do first. If you decide to go with another designer then I will modify this design to sell it (and not be anything related to [website name] of course!) on somewhere like sitepoint.”
My reply was:
“I did find the time to look at your latest mockup and considering further requirements and set/expired deadlines, I would, unfortunately, like to opt out of our collaboration.
If you want to sell the design on Sitepoint, go ahead, as long as you remove the references to [website name] and rearrange some elements so it no longer looks like the mockup I showed to you in July. And would you also please refund my advance payment?”
Alex, if you refund me the advance payment immediately, I’ll be so kind to confirm it here which gives you an opportunity to counter the negative comments that have been written all over web about you (deviantart, cssclip,…).
Thank you,
Pieter D.

Firstly - Alex, if what you say is true about Paypal, then frankly, that is YOUR problem. Not mine. I did ask for a screenshot of your paypal history, but you declined. You also don’t seem too worried about it. If it was me, then I’d be all over Paypal. $200 is a lot of money. I think most reasonable people can see the truth here…
Well, I agreed to resolve this with you. You agreed to do the project and I agreed to retract what I’d said about you and even pay you the remainder of the money. Again - you agreed. That was close to two weeks ago and I’ve yet to see anything. Absolutely no communication and one dead link to a demo that you supposedly did. Sporadic emails here and there saying “it’s coming”, but nothing. You gave me your word that it was being done. Since the dead link email I haven’t heard one thing from you despite numerous emails and unanswered phone calls. At one point I just put you down as being just terrible with communication, but the further it goes I can only think you’re a compulsive liar.
so I have to ask myself why in the name of god did you even bother to suggest that we resolve this if you never intended to actually do anything? Seems utterly pointless and completely insane. Just lies and excuses.
You told people I am some disgruntled ex client who got a refund and a free website. That is completely untrue. All I wanted was what you advertised for and took payment for - what I paid you for.
If anyone has any doubts about me, I can show you every email I sent and he sent. The first email was sent on the 5th of March and the project “started” on that date. I’m still waiting for either my site or my refund….make up your own minds.
At this stage Alex, I just want my full refund of $200 since I had to get pay someone else to do the job I originally paid you to do. And likewise, if you resend my money then I’ll post it here that you came through.

Mark, I feel for your situation. Heck, I’m in exactly the same. But give him some time to react. I’ve been waiting for almost a year myself. A few days more or less don’t matter

Mark
Well Pieter I feel sorry for you. a year is a hell of a long time.
Alex emailed me saying he really wanted to resolve this and promised to get back to me by the end of the day. Needless to say, that was days ago. Alex just frustrates people until the give up on him. I’ve been waiting months for him.
I’ve given up trying to get my work or money from alex in any friendly manner. I’ll be taking it further. I gave the guy chance after chance and I’m not dealing with him anymore. I will get my money back though.

I wont expect Alex to turn up here again trying to defend himself any time soon either. His assertion that he had only one unhappy ex client has been blown out of the water.
